Structural and Electrical Studies on ZnS Quantum Dots Using PEG as Capping Agent

Abstract Zinc sulfide (ZnS) nanoparticles are produced in this study utilizing a simple wet‐chemical precipitation procedure using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as capping agent. To analyze the structural, morphological, electrical, and electronic properties of material, ZnS nano powder is studied X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), FTIR, UV–visible absorption spectroscopy, impedance spectroscopy techniques. The XRD patterns confirm formation cubic phase as‐prepared samples, whereas SEM AFM images show prismatic spherical morphology crystallites, confirming results. FTIR spectra stoichiometric compound with partial shifting vibration bands presence PEG precursor solution. Optical band gap blue shift decrease particle size. controlled growth kinetics synthesized better quantum confinement effect enhancement electrical conductivity behavior predicted from measurements. For temperature range current investigation, dependence found to obey Davis‐Mott model.
